Sugar’s Furry Friend is a delightful children’s book, well written, and well illustrated. It is based on the true story of Sugar, a lovely Golden Retriever, and the friend she makes named Fred. The catch is that Fred is not a dog or a cat, but a chipmunk.
Sugar adores chasing Fred around the yard. The book tells about the fun they have playing with each other throughout the seasons, even teaching children about how chipmunks gather food for their winter hibernation. Acero’s book will help children learn more about the joy dogs have experiencing their world.
Parents will like it because it also has a section at the back of the book that teaches young children what the different words like summer, fall, winter and spring mean. Not only has Acero made it educational, she also includes a colouring book section at the end. It would make a great gift for any child! Definitely two paws up for Sugar’s book!
