Oops-a-Dazy is a non-profit organization that is committed to rescuing stray, abandoned, neglected and abused domestic and farm animals from Southern Alberta. Rescued animals are placed with great families in adoptive forever homes or our sanctuary.
The organization provides education programs that promote responsible pet ownership, animal welfare and helps people to live in harmony with animals.
Oops-a-Dazy advocates spaying and neutering your pets. With the pet overpopulation problem at a crisis level in Canada, and not enough homes available, spay and neuter awareness is one of the best ways to make a lasting impact on the pet population in Alberta. All dogs and cats are spayed or neutered as part of the adoption process and the organization spends a considerable amount of time educating the public about the impacts of spay and neuter campaigns.
We do everything in our power to keep our operating costs low, ensuring that every possible penny is available to care for our precious charges. We are run entirely by volunteers who give tirelessly of their time and skills to care for the many animals that we rescue.
Oops-a-Dazy does not currently have a bricks-and-mortar shelter. Instead, we rely on a terrific network of incredibly warm and loving foster homes. Our foster homes are volunteers who open their homes and hearts to animals in need until their permanent home can be found. In some cases, foster homes may even offer lifetime sanctuary care as a “Forever Foster Home.”
