Calgary Humane Society (CHS); connecting lives of animals and people, and providing an essential community service since 1922. CHS believes that education and awareness is the key to us being able to “help as many animals as we can.”

We have expanded our outreach programs so the Calgary and surrounding communities begin to think of Calgary Humane Society as more than a shelter. Our services include a range of innovative outreach programs that “reach out” to the community.

Shelter programs include:
Breed rescue
Pet Safekeeping Program and Emergency Boarding
Protection Department
Foster Homes
Humane Education
Behaviour Department
Pet Gear Store
Cremation and Pet Memorial Services

CHS shelters more than 6,600 abused, neglected and abandoned animals each year. Through collaboration and education, Calgary Humane Society works to ensure all animals find a happy and healthy forever home. While in our care they receive:

• Veterinary treatment
• A healthy diet
• Behaviour assessment and modification
• Stress reduction programs
• Individual attention and lots of TLC

CHS’ mission is to “Help as many animals as we can”
